This Privacy Policy explains how HerdStat LLC ("HerdStat," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information through herdstat.com and the HerdStat software used by livestock sale barns, producers, and buyers (the "Service").

Text Messages (SMS/MMS)

A sale barn that uses HerdStat may send text messages to people who have agreed to receive them. You agree by checking an unchecked box that is clearly labeled for text messages, on a consignment form or a sale-alert sign-up form.

Who sends the messages: the sale barn named in the message. HerdStat provides the software and the sending number.
What messages are about: sale announcements, consignment deadlines, sale sheet links, and market updates.
Opt out: reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and no further marketing texts from that number unless you opt in again.
Help: reply HELP or email support@herdstat.com.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase, sale, or consignment.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except with the messaging providers and wireless carriers that deliver messages on our or a sale barn's behalf, and as required by law. This does not apply to information you choose to make public on a sale barn's listings, or to the sale barn you chose to receive messages from.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us, such as your name, ranch or business name, email address, phone number, mailing location, livestock and consignment details, photos, videos, and documents you upload. We also collect basic technical information such as device type, browser, pages viewed, and approximate location, and records of your consent choices (what you agreed to, when, and from what source).

2. How We Use Information

To operate the Service, including consignment submissions, sale listings, sale sheets, and market reports.
To let a sale barn communicate with its own sellers, buyers, and contacts, by email or text message, where the person has agreed.
To process billing, provide support, secure the Service, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
To improve and analyze the Service.

3. How We Share Information

With the sale barn you choose to deal with. If you submit a consignment or sign up for alerts, that sale barn receives your information.
With service providers that host the Service, process payments, send email, and deliver text messages, who may use the information only to provide those services to us.
Public content. Information you choose to publish, such as listing details, may be visible on public sale pages.
Legal reasons, such as complying with law or protecting rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal information. As stated above, mobile numbers and text-message consent data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, security, and to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

5. Your Choices

Text messages: reply STOP at any time. Reply HELP for help.
Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Your information: you may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing admin@herdstat.com. Residents of certain states may have additional rights, which we will honor as required by law.

6. Data Retention and Security

We keep information as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, accounting, and consent-record requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version.
