How People Opt In to Text Messages
Sale barns use HerdStat to send sale announcements, consignment deadlines, sale sheet links, and market updates by text message. A person only receives texts after they check the text-message box below on a sale barn's form. The box is never pre-checked, it is separate from email consent, and it is not required to submit a form.
Where consent is collected
- Consignment form for sellers, on a sale barn's public consignment page.
- "Get Sale Alerts" sign-up form on a sale barn's public profile page.
- Text-to-join: a person who texts the word SUBSCRIBE or JOIN to the sale barn's number is opted in and receives the confirmation message shown below.
Consent shown on the consignment form
Choosing either option is not required to submit your consignment.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Terms and Privacy Policy.
Consent shown on the "Get Sale Alerts" form
Be the first to know about upcoming sales and new consignments.
Both boxes start unchecked. A person must check a box on purpose to opt in.
